<p>Aletheia is a Greek word used frequently in the New Testament and is usually translated <i>truth</i>.</p>
<p>As a Christian I believe that the Bible reveals the truth about us, the existence of God, the creation of the universe and more.</p>
<p>The truth about other topics may be hidden in plain sight but generally I have had to search for it. Much of the content in this website has been discovered during the search for truth, for example the truth about the current pandemic, Covid-19.</p>

<p>Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went missing on 8 March 2014.</p>
<p>I started following the saga from day one and collected as much information as possible. This website was developed to collate the available data and make sense of it, that is, to 'decode' the technical data and present it in a more understandable way.</p>
<p>A comprehensive timeline of events helps to understand what happened. But the questions <i>who</i> or <i>why</i> remain unanswered.</p>

<p style="margin:3em;">Each of the websites above has been developed on an open-source platform called MediaWiki. The process has been challenging so I created websites in two sub-domains which reflect what I had have learnt so far, in the hope that the information may help others who will be developing MediaWiki-based websites, particularly those depending on a hosting service provider.</p>

<p>MW is my abbreviation for MediaWiki and indicates that this website is focussed on the installation, configuration and administration of a MediaWiki-based website in a hosted environment. The official MediaWiki documentation is excellent, but is most useful for systems administrators with direct access to a server, the authority to run scripts, and the skill to perform complex tasks. Those of us subscribing to website hosting as a service have a more limited development environment, don't want to upset the service provider, and yet can do a lot, if only we have the confidence and relevant knowledge. Hopefully the collection of articles in this website will be of some benefit.

<p>By default, MediaWiki has a very bland interface. At one time my websites all used a skin called Foreground which is built on the Zurb Foundation CSS Framework. Then I migrated to Pivot which is a responsive, mobile-first skin also built on the Zurb Foundation CSS framework. More recently, as I gained confidence in my own custom css I changed to the Vector skin. Vector has a collapsible menu extension which I have used on each site. One challenge is how to make several related sites look different. Like the other skins, Vector can be customised by using colours of your choice for different parts of the interface. Now I'm no graphic designer but I was able to create the most gaudy and visually challenging website as an example, but with documentation so that others can more easily develop a colour theme for your own MediaWiki site.
